Who should choose a soft mattress?

If you have a light build, at 10 stone or less, then a soft mattress is the ideal base to sleep on. It allows you to sink into the mattress enough to feel supported at pressure points, no matter which sleeping position you prefer. Children should also sleep on a soft mattress, as it will support their growing body by keeping them aligned throughout the night. For those with average builds, between 10 and 14 stone, it may be worth considering a medium-firm mattress that could provide better support for your body.
