As we step into the new year, it’s time to embrace a fresh start. So, what better way to start anew than with a bedroom makeover?

With 2025 bringing a wave of exciting new design trends, staying up-to-date can feel overwhelming.

To make life a little easier, we’ve rounded up the most popular rising interior trends to help spark some inspiration. From medieval-inspired castlecore to pretty dollhouse designs all wrapped up in a bow, 2025 presents a chance to experiment with our personal taste more than ever and create a real maximalist haven in your sleeping space.

Join us as we dive into our six favourite bedroom design trends that are set to make a big splash in 2025…

1. Experiment with primary colour play

According to the annual Pinterest Predicts trends report (and trust us, they usually get it spot on), nostalgia will get a vibrant upgrade in 2025, as we transform our homes into colourful playful havens.

Ready to release your inner child? If you’re looking to give your bedroom a makeover this year, try leaning into your childhood nostalgia and experiment with the art of “primary play.” This involves using solely primary colours in your palette: red, blue and yellow. These shades look great when blocked together for a bright and bold look.

When it comes to patterns, funky stripes, zigzags and checkerboards all work particularly well in this colour scheme. Choose to inject some vibrant patterns with changeable homeware such as artwork, blankets and throw cushions, or why not invest in a patterned furniture piece for a real statement? Red, yellow and blue are in their prime!

2. Add a pop of cherry red

Continuing on from the ‘unexpected red theory’ trend that took the interior design world by storm last year, 2025 is going to be all about cherries. The deeper tone of cherry red has a slightly more sophisticated feel than a bright red and is gender-neutral, making it a great colour to work into any bedroom.

Fancy getting the look? It’s easy to incorporate the cherry trend into your bedroom aesthetic, as it makes a statement even in small doses. For an elegant, understated design, use cherry red as your accent colour against tones of black, brown or white. Paint your walls in one of these shades, and then dot elements of cherry red accessories around your bedroom, such as blankets, cushions, rugs or ornaments. Cherry pick the items, if you will.

3. Get all dolled up with frills and bows

If you’ve got your sights set on designing a dreamy, girly boudoir, have we got a new trend for you! Introducing “dolled up,” an aesthetic that focuses on creating your very own doll’s house. The trend comes from a rise in Pinterest searches for “cutecore room ideas.” That means cutesy everything; from whimsical shapes and soft furnishings to feminine colours and doll-like furniture. Sounds adorable, right?

Fancy creating your very own Barbie’s dream house (or, at least in your bedroom)? Opt for a colour palette of pastel shades like pink, yellow, mint green and lilac. Furniture should be soft, feminine and feature curved edges. Our Margot bed, in a fluffy pink bouclé fabric, would be a perfect fit. When it comes to styling, make sure to dress your bed in layers of cosy bed sheets, throws and pillows – the more frills and bows, the better. Hi Barbie!

4. Get medieval with castlecore

If pink isn’t for you, how about something a little more dramatic and edgy? Whilst the new year often brings about optimism and wonder about the future, the castlecore trend is all about taking inspiration from years gone by – and we’re talking going all the way back to medieval times. Think designs inspired by the grandeur and romance of ancient castles.

Want to be the king of the castle? Try capturing the moody atmosphere of castlecore with rich jewel tones, gothic metals and dark wooden furniture. Our Hugo Nickel Metal Bed Frame is a great centrepiece for a medieval aesthetic, thanks to its black metal detailing. To continue the look, go for opulent jewel-toned velvet bedding in ruby red or emerald green, and accessorise with subtle metallic accents.

5. Get down to earth with warm, natural tones

If, like us, you’re an interiors fanatic, you’ll already know that Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2025 shade is Mocha Mousse; a deliciously rich and complex brown tone.

“Mocha mousse is a comforting neutral; it feels organic, earthy, peaceful, and warming. It can work with an array of styles, as a wonderful base colour to match most things, and can be a full-on wall colour or incorporated in accents.”

We love an earthy brown bedroom colour scheme, particularly when paired with natural-tone furniture, such as our House Beautiful Rosa Bed Frame and matching blanket box. This provides a stunning contrast and an overall warm and cosy ambience that you just won’t be able to wait to snuggle up in!

6. Embrace the natural world with biophilic design

Finally, we have the biophilic design trend. Nature has always been a good thing to take inspiration from for our bedroom designs. So, how can we do it in 2025? Well, biophilic design focuses on taking elements from the natural world into our homes, to help us feel connected with nature and all of its wonderful benefits. It’s said that blending nature with our living space can have a positive impact on our mental health and general well-being.

Fancy bringing the outside in? The easiest way to start creating a biophilic bedroom is by adding some houseplants for an instant dose of greenery. Natural materials are also a great tool to create an organic feel, such as wood, bamboo, rattan, stone and cork. Make sure to make use of natural lighting where possible too, to create a bright and airy space. If you’re not blessed with big windows and good lighting, opt for eco-friendly lightbulbs for your lamps, to be kinder to the planet.
