We love the botanical style in the bedrooms. It reflects the growing popularity of bringing the outdoors in and connecting with the natural environment to give us a sense of wellness.

Botanical bedroom design creates a visual connection with nature and a calming space to sleep, whether it’s through plant-inspired décor and fabrics, green walls and accessories, the use of natural materials like wood or displaying indoor plants.

In this article, we’ve compiled our favourite botanical bedroom ideas, from simply adding a leaf-print rug or tropical blind to investing in a green bed or statement wallpaper.

Introduce the colour green to your bedroom

The colour green instantly gives a botanical feel to your bedroom, and it’s ideal for creating a soothing, relaxing vibe.

Consider painting your walls in on-trend shades of sage, olive or grey-green, or introduce pops of colour through cushions, throws, vases, candlesticks or even a green bed.

In the bedroom pictured above, we’ve gone all-out with olive green walls and green bedding, then balanced this with the warm, natural tones of the Woodstock bed frame and matching bedside table, as well as the earthy shades in the cushion and blanket.

Green hues also work well in a guest room, where a stylish green sofa bed can make a great statement piece.

Add bold botanical patterns to walls and textiles

If you want to go big with botanicals, try decorating your walls in a large wall pattern like we’ve done in the bedroom above.

It’s a simple and effective way to incorporate the botanical trend into a minimalist bedroom. We’ve added other elements of the trend by placing a houseplant next to the bed and using natural wood for the bedside table and flooring.

You could also bring a lush and leafy freshness to your bedroom with a modern botanical-print duvet cover, rug, or a few pieces of botanical art. When you’re choosing flowery prints, go for modern florals in bold, stylised designs and avoid anything fussy or chintzy that could look old-fashioned. If you want to make a statement without investing too much, we recommend dressing your window with a vibrant tropical print blind.

Display plants in your bedroom

Adding indoor plants to your botanical bedroom design is a great way to bring the outside in.

Houseplants look beautiful and create structure and interest. They also benefit physical and mental well-being. There’s a great choice of beautiful bedroom plants that help you sleep better.

Whether you paint your bedroom walls green or simply introduce a flowery print on your duvet cover, there are so many ways to bring botanical style into your bedroom. Just remember to go for modern florals and contemporary prints for a fresh and current look.

Incorporate natural materials

Create a grounded, organic feel with nature’s resources.

Pick out wooden furniture, bamboo accents, and woven rattan to include earthy textures. Natural fibres in your bedding or rugs work, too! Combining these elements with green hues and botanical prints will tie the look together… you’ll never want to leave this organic retreat.

Add botanical artwork

Add subtle artistic touches that celebrate nature.

Hang artwork with a botanical theme in your room, including framed images of beautiful flowers, leaves, or abstract patterns inspired by the natural world. They would look fabulous above your bed. You could even channel your inner Picasso and attempt to design and paint the artwork yourself.

Feature nature-inspired lighting

Enhance your botanical ambience with nature-infused lighting fixtures.

Choose lamps and light fixtures crafted from natural materials like wood, rattan, or jute when accessorising your room. Pendant lights with delicate leafy designs or table lamps with charming floral bases will look fabulous. Soft, warm lighting can really envelop a space, adding cosiness and beckoning relaxation. Incorporate oh-so-sweet floral candles

Rose, jasmine, lavender, and more – enjoy delicious floral scents in your escape.

Whether reading your favourite book, journaling your thoughts, or simply unwinding after a busy day, a scented candle looks and smells fantastic with gentle flickers of light and sweet scents of nature. And they don’t just look and smell good. The scents can also help relax your mind, preparing you for a restful night’s sleep. And remember, keep your candle safe on a non-flammable surface, never leave it unattended, and always extinguish it when you feel sleepy.
