Simple, sunny and carefree – Barbie really is everything. Welcome to the age of pink vibes only.

Believe it or not, the ultra-feminine Barbie aesthetic is set to make a splash this summer.
Related in no small way to the critically acclaimed Greta Gerwig film, Barbie’s hyper-stylized looks have been reimagined with a healthy dose of fun, zeal and, of course, plenty of hot pink.
First appearing in fashion back in 2022, from iconic Met Gala looks to a first glimpse at Margot Robbie in the titular role, #Barbiecore is ready to make an impact in interiors this year. Answering a resounding call for simpler, sunnier times, it’s unapologetically indulgent. The Barbie aesthetic is all about dialling up the serotonin and giving in to the joyous hues of 80s-inspired neon. And don’t forget the accessories.
Come on Barbie, let’s go decorate.
Whilst drenching your walls in hot pink paint might seem a tad extreme, there are plenty of ways to create a Barbie world in the comfort of your own home.
Barbie is naturally maximalist – hello, roller skates – but with minimalist influences that focus on big, statement pieces rather than clutter and fuss. Think chandeliers, feature wallpaper, fluffy rugs and metallic accents.

If you’re not ready to create a Barbie Dreamhouse from top to bottom, we think a Barbie bedroom is a great way to start incorporating this trend. Representing a naturally more private and personal space, your master suite is a place you can be yourself. And if yourself is someone who’s ready for a pop of pink, you’re in luck.
It’s time to bring Malibu to your master suite.
For a low-maintenance Barbie paradise, adding a pink bed frame is a fun and functional way to incorporate this trend without even picking up a paintbrush. Because this Barbie just wants to go party.
For rich pink tones, the Abbey bed frame has curves that would keep even Barbie on her toes (literally). Carefully sculpted with rounded edges for a soft feminine look, the Abbey is incredibly stylish with traditional influences that make her perfect for a guest or master suite.
When it comes to plush pink vibes, it doesn’t get any better than the Sleepeezee Messina headboard. Pairing beautifully with high-shine accessories such as glass tabletops, the Messina combines luscious pink velvet with deep diamante button detailing for an oh-so glamorous finish. It’s available in a variety of sizes, perfect for adding to a sweet spare room or statement master suite.

If you prefer subtle shine, the Sana bed frame is every inch as glamorous as Greta Gerwig’s Barbie dream land. With a highly pearlescent finish that adds instant shine, the Sana has a high winged headboard that’s incredibly soft and inviting, playing on the neutral end of the Barbiecore spectrum. Pair with statement pink bedding and rich neutral textures to bring this fantasy to life.
Barbie was the ultimate 80s ‘It Girl’, so let’s dial up the nostalgia.
When it comes to 80s style, more is more. Patterns, textures, lines, shapes and prints – you name it, it’s there. Attention-grabbing aesthetics are the name of the game, so it’s clear to see why it’s a perfect match for Barbie.
Neons, pastels and bright colours were all the rage back in the day, but don’t worry. We’ll share ways to incorporate these trends without needing to put your shades on when it’s light’s out – though that would be very Barbie of you.

Colour blocking is a great way to incorporate splashes of colour without going all out. Pairing two contrasting colours in a block format evokes instant nostalgia, and can be incredibly chic in the bedroom to enhance the look of your headboard. Alternatively, why not consider bright bedding to contrast your frame? You could even DIY your own colour-blocked duvet set in your perfect palette.
When it comes to neon, why not try adding some statement lighting to illuminate your bedroom? Neon signs and bold coloured lighting can add instant interest to your bedroom with minimal effort.
You know what we’re going to say, right? Pink, pink and more pink.
The opportunities are endless when it comes to pink – baby pink, pastel pink, hot pink, magenta, fuchsia, blush, peach… you get the idea. Tonal layering is a great way to add sophistication to a pink look, so build your perfect palette with plenty of variation in tone and shade.
Playing with prints is a great alternative if you’re not into pink, and speaks to Barbie’s nostalgic 80s image. Maximalists, rejoice! Why not go all out with animal print and create a high-fashion contrast that your house guests will go wild for? To bring this look to your own bedroom, discover the soft-touch texture of the TheraPur Rowan divan and headboard that adds a welcome dose of comfort to this chic look.

Speaking of Malibu Barbie, we can’t miss the opportunity to homage to everything tropical. From wallpaper to bedding, botanical prints not only evoke the sunny, care-free Barbie aesthetic, they create an incredibly versatile foundation to build around. Plus, green and pink are a dynamic duo for the ages – just like Barbie and Ken.
