What size is a small single bed?

A small single bed is around 2ft 6in in width and 6ft 3in in length. However, the exact dimensions will depend on the bed frame and any additional headboards or footboards added. Make sure to check the sizing of the specific small single bed you’re purchasing when measuring your space.

Is a small single bed suitable for an adult?

Yes- at 6 ft 3 in long (190cm), a small single is long enough to fit an adult. Although they are 25cm narrower than a standard UK single bed, there is still enough room for an adult to sleep comfortably. Small single beds are well suited for those who don’t need to spread out too much and provide an affordable option that can free up some floor space in smaller rooms. They also make a great option for children’s bedrooms and guest rooms.

Choosing a mattress for your small single bed

Our small single divan beds are designed to hold a small single mattress only. Due to their slightly different size, they are too small for any other mattress size. Our foldable small single beds come with a built-in e-fibre mattress to save you the hassle and money. These 5cm thick mattresses are made with recycled materials and add a cushioned layer of comfort to your small single bed to create a relaxing sleep environment that can be easily put away after use.

What types of small single beds are available?

• Small single divan beds – This traditional base provides sturdy support for your mattress and is available in a variety of colours to suit your décor. Perfect for children or guest bedrooms, these are a more permanent solution for smaller spaces.
• Small single foldable beds – These compact beds feature a durable and sturdy steel frame with a built-in mattress that can be folded up and stored away when not in use. Lightweight and easy to transport, they’re ideal for accommodating guests temporarily or even when camping.
